International Opportunities

Food for the Poor January Term Trip
During the January Term the Institute for Achievement and Learning provides a unique service learning opportunity in its academic program abroad in conjunction with the Food for the Poor organization. Students who choose to participate have an opportunity to be immersed in international cultures, to sing with the schoolchildren, and to design and provide activities for orphans and the handicapped while learning how poverty exists in a country surrounded by music, culture and diversity. These January Term trips allow students to explore the economic and cultural diversity that can only been truly experienced and understood by witnessing it firsthand.
South Africa Academic Program Abroad
Students have the opportunity to participate in an academic program abroad to South Africa with staff from the Institute for Achievement and Learning each year. South Africa’s historical culture, physical landscape and legendary wildlife make it a desirable location for any student, regardless of the student’s area of study at the university. The two cities that this program visits are Cape Town and Durban, two locations that have countless activities to provide students with an unparalleled academic experience of a lifetime.
