The major in Liberal Arts facilitates competency in critical thinking skills and analytical skills, as well as communication skills of speaking, writing and aesthetic appreciation. Further, the Liberal Arts major fosters an appreciation for lifelong learning and prepares students to use criteria and rules from the specializations in communication arts, history and humanities to judge the quality and impact of information. The Liberal Arts major is appropriate for those students who intend to pursue a law degree, graduate studies or careers in a broad range of areas, including information-based agencies and human and cultural communication.
