Challenging, exploratory and innovative; these concepts are the essence of the Lynn Drama major. From the day they arrive on campus, students are actively involved in performance and the creation of it. The program encourages students to perform on stage, in the studio theater and in front of the camera, as well as to write, direct and produce original works. Committed to enabling students to grasp the skills necessary to succeed in an age of emerging technologies, the drama program encourages students to take advantage of advanced technical applications that are available in the college. The newly constructed 750-seat Wold Performing Arts Center, a multi-purpose experimental theater space, two small performance stages, professional TV, video and audio recording spaces allow students to engage in the production of cutting-edge theatrical and video productions. Performances in New York City, 24-hour theater projects, cabarets and student productions are only a small portion of the extracurricular events that are produced each semester. The film and drama programs collaborate producing student films and docu-dramas. Using state-of-the-art studio facilities and the newest technology available, students gain hands-on experience in order to perform in today’s ever more competitive entertainment industry.
