Hospitality Careers

Whatever specialization the hospitality management student chooses, the college strives to provide both interdisciplinary and specialized curriculum to prepare the student for a managerial role in the industry immediately upon graduation.

Students who choose hospitality management as their area of study have the opportunity to pursue careers in a wide variety of areas, including the financial sector, conference and event management, luxury resort and hotel management, sales, marketing, restaurant supervisory roles, athletic director and coordinator positions, and much more.

These sectors of the industry are growing at exceptional rates, offering students with strong capabilities and a solid foundation the opportunity to move into managerial positions quickly, and to progressively achieve higher income levels throughout their careers.

Internship Opportunities

Students in the hospitality management program at Lynn have the unique advantage of being located in an area with an abundance of hotels, resorts, club and spa operations, vacation ownership companies, professional athletic teams, and diverse sporting organizations.

As experiential learning is a large component of the hospitality management program, students are required to complete a series of internships in their area of study during which they learn what it is like to work in a particular segment of the industry. The college collaborates with students in order to find internship opportunities that not only meet their personal needs, but that will help their professional goals as well. Students completing internships through the college often find themselves with excellent experience and recommendations, and in many cases are recruited as full-time employees for that organization upon graduation.

Alumni in the Field

College of Hospitality Management alumni are currently working in such positions as finance coordinators, customer relations managers, project coordinators, recreation managers and spa supervisors at prestigious organizations like the Trump International Golf Club, Venetian Hotel and Casino, Westin Riverwalk and Doubletree Gallery One. The college is proud of its alumni and continues to provide current students the opportunity to gain experience through internships and experiential learning in the classroom so that they are prepared to enter hospitality-related careers upon graduation.
