Programs
The College of Education is Title II program-approved and offers a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree and an educational doctorate degree.

Undergraduate
The Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education has three specializations:
Grades K-6
The Elementary Education major is designed to prepare students to teach in grades kindergarten through sixth. Elementary Education students have experiences that combine learning theory with practical applications, which promote the integration of technology and ESOL performance standards and encompass a variety of field-based activities.
Grades K-6 Plus pre-K/Primary (Age 3 - Grade 3)
The Elementary Education Plus Pre-K/Primary Education program combines theoretical components of both K–6 grades with age three through grade three, along with practical application appropriate to each developmental level. Students in this degree program have extensive field experiences in the community and in local private and public schools (Pre-K through grade six).
Exceptional Student Education (ESE)
The Elementary Education plus ESE specialization program combines theoretical components of K–6 grades with basic knowledge and skills needed to teach students with disabilities. This specialization would afford the student an opportunity to become certified in ESE for grades K-12 as well as Elementary Education and to gain knowledge and understanding of how to work with students with disabilities.
Graduate
The college offers a Master of Education with majors in Exceptional Student Education and Educational Leadership.
Educational Leadership
The master’s degree in educational leadership offers two tracks:
The School Administration K-12 program also offers three additional specializations:
- School Administration with ESOL endorsement
- School Administration with a specialization in Exceptional Student Education (ESE)
- School Administration with a specialization in Specific Learning Difficulties (SLD)
The educational leadership program develops aspiring educational leaders' abilities to solve problems and lead organizational improvement. Program areas include effective ways to support and assist colleagues, continuous improvement and transformation of organizations to ensure they are high-performing – built on the foundation of social justice, ethical and democratic leadership.
Exceptional Student Education
The master's degree in exceptional student education is offered with two tracks (with ESOL endorsement and without ESOL endorsement) and three specializations:
This program consists of several courses in ESE which will provide students with the skills needed to work with a diverse group of children with disabilities in a K-12 setting. Specifically, an ESE classroom includes students who may have emotional, mental or learning disabilities. The courses focus primarily on theory, knowledge, and clinical experiences in the field, as well as practical application of that theory and knowledge. The intent is to produce graduates who, as teachers, are able to address the needs of this increasingly diverse student population and can provide leadership for innovative programs to coordinate professional activities to better serve these students.
Graduate Autism Spectrum Disorders Endorsement
The purpose of the Autism and Severe/Profound Endorsements Support Program is to provide financial assistance to Exceptional Student Education (ESE) teachers who are working with students identified as having autism spectrum disorders or severe/profound disabilities in a Florida public school. The program provides up to $1,000 per course for tuition support through funding from the State Personnel Development Grant on an annual basis through the Florida Department of Education, Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Part D. Applicants must sign a Program/Service Obligation Agreement upon admission to the program.
Graduate Severe Profound Disability Endorsement
Current teachers and graduate students can enroll in courses leading toward the State Endorsement in Severe Disabilities through Project SCIPP (Significant Cognitive Impairments Personnel Preparation: A Multi-University Consortium on Severe Disabilities) at Lynn University. Courses are offered through interactive video and Web-based formats so teachers may enroll in the courses at their local or regional university. Courses are offered at night to accommodate teacher's schedules and generally meet no more than once a week. Financial assistance may be available. This project is funded and sponsored by the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Administration on Developmental Disabilities and the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council, Inc.
Doctorate
The Educational Doctorate for Scholar Practitioners (Ed.D.) equips candidates with the skills needed to connect research with practice, lead high-performing organizations, and contribute to students learning. The program is geared toward working professionals who want to be leaders in "metropolitan" education systems. The degree program was developed in partnership with the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate.
The program focuses on four themes (leadership, accountability, equity and diversity, and learning and instruction) and offers two concentrations that are tailored to the following professional fields:
- Educational Leadership
- Teacher Preparation
