Through weekly private lessons and studio classes, a weekly performance forum, ensemble coaching and music courses, our faculty offer you comprehensive professional performance training.
Additional opportunities offered to pianists at Lynn include guest master classes, the New Music Festival, the outreach program and the annual concerto competition, which presents a winning piano soloist with the Lynn Philharmonia each year.
Our chamber music program thoughtfully assigns you to a group every semester and includes a structured rehearsal schedule, formal weekly coaching and a required performance.
You can also gain teaching experience in the Preparatory School of Music, if qualified.
In addition to challenging music courses in theory, history and music entrepreneurship, you will be required to perform a full solo recital, concerto, chamber music and sight-reading jury during your program. These graded performances will all take place in the presence of conservatory faculty who will supply you with written comments. You will take proficiency exams in music theory and history and a comprehensive exam in your field of study.
