Aviation Management

Through the course work in the aviation management major students are acquainted with the history, current state and anticipated future happenings of the aviation industry, including the application of business and management principles as well as aviation regulations and law.

Entrepreneurship

Our unique entrepreneurship program allows students to practice problem-solving with local and international businesses. You can take advantage of real hands-on learning that prepares you to launch successful business ventures or grow a family business.

Event Management

The event management program will prepare you for the challenging and detail-oriented profession of event planning and organization. Plus, you can supplement your classroom courses with off-campus learning opportunities throughout the South Florida region.

Fashion and Retail

The fashion and retail degree was developed for students seeking business-focused careers in this fast-paced industry. Students who pursue a degree in Fashion and Retail will also enjoy behind-the-scenes learning opportunities at fashion week events in New York City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and abroad.

Hospitality Management 

The hospitality management degree offers students interested in obtaining careers in this industry a professionally oriented curriculum that focuses on the key principles of hotel and restaurant operations, resort management, event and facilities management, and business and financial management, integrating general education competencies into the course work.

International Business Management

The curriculum in the international business management program focuses on the legal aspects of international trade, finance and marketing while cultivating awareness of the many potential social and cultural influences dealt within multinational corporations.

Investment Management

The investment management degree blends financial and interpersonal lessons together to prepare you for a career in personal financial planning, institutional money management or a wide array of similar careers.

Marketing

The courses in the marketing major cover a variety of concepts necessary to the understanding of how marketing impacts the corporate bottom line and include hands-on projects that provide valuable experience that increases their future career opportunities.

Sports Management

For students in the sports management program, learning begins in the classroom and continues in the real world of the sports industries. With a focus on practical knowledge in sports business, law and marketing, the curriculum centers on active, experiential learning.

Graduate

The Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) program prepares qualified students for middle and upper-level management leadership responsibilities in business, not-for-profit and governmental organizations and offers specializations in the following areas:

Aviation Management

The aviation management specialization courses focus on aviation and airport operations as well as management topics specific to the industry in order to build the skills and understanding necessary to remain competitive in the field.

Financial Valuation and Investment Management

The financial valuation and investment management specialization introduces students to concepts related to the use of valuation analysis and portfolio management as well as leadership, management, marketing and financial accountability.

Hospitality Management

The hospitality management specialization includes fundamental course work in business administration while blending classes that specialize in and are relevant to the industry, focusing on the principles of resort management.

International Business

Courses in the international business specialization provide knowledge relevant to the context of international business as it relates to various trade theories and agreements and give insight into how multinational firms operate.

Marketing

The marketing specialization focuses on both the core skills necessary to succeed in business as well as specialty courses that focus on international marketing, integrated marketing communications and specialized training in the field.

Mass Communication and Media Management

The mass communication and media management specialization focuses on the issues, theories and trends in media management as well the role of traditional media and the effects of electronic media and emerging technologies.

Sports and Athletics Administration

The sports and athletics administration specialization focuses on the principles of the critical issues of national interest in both collegiate and professional sports, with an emphasis on the application of management theory and practice in sports administration.

Certificate Programs

Aviation

In addition to the bachelor’s and master’s degrees in aviation management, the college, through its School of Aeronautics, also offers undergraduate aviation certificate programs that prepare students for ground and flight examinations for various FAA flight licenses and ratings.

Hospitality

Undergraduate certificate programs are designed for both experienced professionals in the restaurant, hotel and travel industries who want to strengthen their background and for individuals with no previous exposure to this field. The following specialized certificates are offered to current Lynn students and those not actively seeking a degree:

CEO Lecture Series

Each semester, the College of Business and Management brings a semester’s worth of CEOs and successful entrepreneurs for the CEO Lecture Series. Recent guests make up an impressive list of businessmen including Jeff Aronson, CEO and founder of Cash4Gold; Sy Sperling, former CEO of The Hair Club; and Steve Fassberg, CEO and founder of The Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Company, along with many other innovative entrepreneurs. International Opportunities

A business education in the college involves more than classroom study; through experiential learning and study abroad opportunities the college strives to provide students with a global awareness of domestic and international business with a hands-on focus. Students in the college have opportunities to study abroad learning business concepts in such locations as China, Switzerland, Argentina, Ireland, England and many other countries. These faculty-led programs familiarize students with global business and practical skills needed for successful careers.

Howard Isaacson Innovation Challenge

The Howard Isaacson Innovation Challenge is an exciting chance for Lynn students to develop their bright ideas for a product or business into a pitch that could earn them cash prizes. Teams with creative and viable business plans will present their idea before a panel of judges made up of entrepreneurs and business experts. Winners will be chosen based on several criteria, including the potential for the plan to succeed in the marketplace.
