Business careers

Whatever specialization the business administration student chooses, the college strives to provide a curriculum to prepare the student for a managerial or entrepreneurial role upon graduation. Students who specialize in an area of business administration have the opportunity to pursue careers in a wide variety of areas, including the financial sector, marketing and sales, purchasing and administration, retail management and merchandising, hospitality management, product management and distribution, and much more.

Internship opportunities

The College of Business and Management incorporates practical learning experiences through its internship programs for all business students. Students have numerous opportunities for internships in a wide variety of local businesses and organizations. The college’s objective is to place students in positions most aligned to their career interests, and past internship placements have included positions in the White House, Neiman Marcus, the Boca Raton Resort and Club, Merrill Lynch, Smith Barney, Bloomingdale’s and Northwestern Mutual.

Career Preparation and Internships Program (CPIP)

The Career Preparation and Internships Program is an initiative to support and prepare business students for their prospective careers and “life after Lynn”. The program is designed to help students realize their full potential by identifying their areas of strength and development needs through mutually beneficial partnerships with organizations that  provide active learning experiences for both participating students and employers.

Relationships are in place or being made with organizations including Office Depot, Sherwin Williams, Parker Hannifin, Jarden, 02 media Inc., C3 Interactive, Wyndam, Hilton, Seagate Hotel & Spa, Boca Raton Resort, AXA Equitable, Elite Island Resorts and Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Students may begin participation in the program as early as the first semester of their sophomore year. Upon completion, students will receive a certificate which will identify them as a “business partner referral” candidate from the College of Business and Management with corporations and business partners.

Alumni in the field

Graduates in the college have found successful careers in every size and type of business, as well as in every type of position. Currently the college has alumni working in such diverse industries as aeronautics, fashion, marketing, finance and banking, and manufacturing. Many business administration graduates start their own businesses immediately upon graduation, and Lynn’s more experienced business graduates occupy executive positions in major organizations.
