Three students in Lynn’s Conservatory of Music – Valentin Mansurov (violinist), Aziz Sapaev (cellist from Tashkent, Uzbekistan) and Valeriya Polunina (pianist also from Tashkent, Uzbekistan) – have been selected as finalists in the 63rd annual Coleman Chamber Ensemble Competition. The three will compete on Saturday, April 25, at 9 a.m., at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, Calif.

The competition brings young musicians from schools and conservatories across the nation and abroad to perform before a panel of judges. “This is the most prestigious chamber competition in the United States,” said Patricia McCarthy in Lynn’s Conservatory. Prizewinners will be announced Sunday, April 26.
