Lisa Dandeo, associate professor of fashion management at Lynn University’s College of Business, recently published a blog on the Huffington Post College page about the various styles of shoes that showed up at the school’s 2012 commencement ceremonies.

Over the years, the school’s students found a way to express their individual styles during commencement ceremonies by wearing unique and flashy shoes to go with their uniform cap and gown. This has now become a semi-official tradition that students, staff and faculty look forward to.

“As coordinator of the fashion management program, I am always encouraging students to explore their sense of style as part of their studies,” Dandeo said. “You’d think this philosophy of self-expression would hit a brick wall at our commencement ceremonies since everyone has to wear black robes and funny square hats, but that’s not the case.”

Dandeo is the latest faculty member to publish a blog on the Huffington Post’s College page. Thomas Kruczek, dean of the College of Business and Management, became the first Lynn faculty to blog for the Post with his submission about his time with Lynn’s 2012 commencement speaker and future asteroid miner, Peter Diamandis.
