Pine Tree Camps opens registration and announces fee freeze

Registration is open for this summer’s Pine Tree Camps at Lynn University. Accredited by the American Camp Association and member of the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce, Pine Tree Camps gives children a unique experience with programs tailored to the individual needs and interests of each camper. Now in its 31st year, the camp has a long track record of excellence. In recent years, the camp was cited by Delta Airlines’ magazine as having one of the nation’s first computer camps for children. And in September 2006, the American Camp Association presented the camp with its “Excellence in Programming Award.”
The director of Pine Tree Camps at Lynn University, Diane DiCerbo, says her camp job is a year-round commitment. And right now, she says, that job entails pushing the value Pine Tree Camps offers local residents. “I knew last summer that money was getting tight for families and that it was going to get tighter,” said DiCerbo. “So we made a conscious decision not to raise the prices this year. This is the first year in camp history that our prices haven’t gone up. We generally have to raise the cost by 3-5 percent just to keep up with inflation and vendor’s cost increases.”
A traditional summer camp at heart, Pine Tree Camps utilizes the resources and facilities of Lynn University to create valuable, hands-on day camp, sleepover and specialty camp programs. The camp is staffed with counselors that provide a safe, nurturing environment that promotes a child’s social, emotional and intellectual growth while cultivating a strong sense of personal achievement, as well as providing a fun activity center where kids can be kids. Campers return year after year because Pine Tree has so many wonderful and unique activities that reunite camp friends.
Pine Tree Camps runs in three sessions from June 8 to Aug. 7, and is available for children between the ages of 3 and 13. Pine Tree Camps offers unique programs for day campers, half-day campers, and sleepaway campers. Day programs include Discovery Camp, Computer Camp, JurassiCamp, MagiCamp, Creative Arts Camp, Music Camp, Space and Rocket Camp, Amazing Science Camp, Multimedia Camp, Super Sports Camp, Circus Camp, and more. Activities vary based on programs and include sports, arts and crafts, computer enrichment, film production, circus training, visual arts lessons, music lessons, space and rocket lessons, astronaut training, games, boating, fishing, nature adventures, archery, tennis, go-carts, magic and science. Transportation is available for day campers.
