Lynn University’s culinary experience gets a complete makeover

Lynn University’s culinary experience is getting a major makeover. Not only has the food service provider changed, but the university’s food venues have been remodeled.
Sodexo, a leader in Quality of Life services and partner to more than 850 colleges and universities in the United States and Canada, has been selected to provide dining and catering services for the campus. They bring their culinary, wellness and sustainability expertise to the campus’ more than 2,400 students for the next 5 years. Sodexo began serving the campus this summer.
“Sodexo is on top of the latest campus dining trends and looks forward to providing Lynn with a dining program that fuels both the body and the mind,” said Tom Post, president, Sodexo Education-Campus.
Sodexo’s philosophy is a good match for Lynn’s Going Green program as it is committed to reduce waste, conserve water, provide locally grown and sourced foods and materials and to engage in green cleaning practices.
“We are really excited to have the opportunity to serve Lynn and we look forward to introducing a lot of great new services and programs on campus,” said Brian Bowser, who serves as the general manager of Lynn’s dining services for Sodexo.
The company will add their own flavor to Lynn’s dining venues which underwent major changes for the opening of this school year.
New and improved dining venues:
- The newly remodeled Elmore Dining Commons will be opened 24/7, the only school in the area to provide round-the-clock dining availability, with a permanent outdoor grill to be installed later in the year.
- Christine’s – formerly a small coffee shop – has expanded and been transformed into a market-fresh bistro with a focus on sustainability and local food options.
- And coming later in the fall: The library’s Perper Study Lounge will take on a new persona as a “We Proudly Serve” Starbucks café ideal for the quick grab-n-go coffee, cold drink, smoothies, snacks or desserts.
Sodexo will also sponsor special events and features such as Meet the Chef, Pop-Up Dining, Text and Tell; and will engage students using social media platforms, a dining app and dedicated website to include information, menus and specials.
