The Lynn University Philharmonia Orchestra will take the Mizner Park stage next month on Saturday, April 18, for an evening of theme song renditions from movies including Rocky, Superman, E.T., Star Wars, and others. The free, public performance will begin at 7:30 p.m., and Lynn’s Conservatory will accompanied by the world-renowned Empire Brass.
The Empire Brass is “one of the preeminent brass chamber groups in the world,” says Ken Amis, a member of the group and tuba artist-faculty at Lynn’s Conservatory of Music. Amis is one of three Empire Brass members that teach in Lynn’s conservatory including: trumpet artist-faculty and assistant dean Marc Reese, and French horn artist-faculty Greg Miller. “The three of us,” said Amis “having met as students of the Empire Brass, have continued the tradition of performing and teaching.”
