Professional Profile

Initially, I chose to be a faculty member at Lynn University because I believed in the mission statement. After many years of service, I am even more impressed by the dedication of the faculty and their willingness to extend so much care and concern for the students’ intellectual development and whole being both in and out of the classroom.

Maureen Goldstein’s teaching experience includes various levels of higher education which has given her the opportunity to enhance her skills and breadth of pedagogy that can only be obtained by the actual performance of certain tasks with a wide range of demographics.

Goldstein has participated in the Academic Programs Abroad, which provides students with immersion and experiential learning that would not have been achieved in a classroom setting. As a student, she attended the American College in Paris and can attest to the effectiveness of these types of programs.

Teaching Philosophy

Maureen Goldstein believes that education should provide the student with the ability not only to master the content material but to apply it to his/her own life. She feels that subjects should not be studied as a separate isolated series of facts, but as part of a whole system of integrated material, and the student should comprehend how this knowledge is relevant to one’s life. In addition, mutual respect and recognition should exist between the professor and the student as the basis of intellectual development and exchange.
