Teaching Philosophy
My philosophy of teaching is that students learn best in a relaxed environment in which they are allowed to actively participate in the learning process, though a certain amount of direct lecture teaching is necessary in the lower level courses. Students need to be able to pursue their areas of specialization, and I am happy to provide guidance to them. I utilize activity-based learning experiences such as the case study method, role play exercises, games and group projects. These teaching methods allow the student to be an active participant in the learning experience, while keeping focused on the lesson at hand. Ultimately, my goal is for the student to become a self-based learner who will continue the pursuit of knowledge during their lifetime.
