Professional Profile

Lynn University is a small university that focuses on innovation at all levels and helps all students to be successful both academically and professionally. These are important qualities to me in a university. I come from a large university system where the individual student was sometimes lost in the shuffle and had to compete with thousands of other students each day in all areas both academically and socially. Lynn allows the each student to thrive in a nurturing environment full of opportunities.

Cassandra L. Keller, Ed.D., is an associate professor in the Ross College of Education. Before Lynn, she worked at Florida Atlantic University for seven years as a field experience coordinator, coordinator of an alternative preparation program and visiting instructor. She has published and presented at more than 13 peer reviewed publications and conferences. She has successfully authored or coauthored four grants both at the local and state level. She was a classroom teacher at the K-12 level for seven years.

Teaching Philosophy
I believe that students learn through active engagement and conversation, not just sitting and listening. Therefore, my students will be involved in relevant activities and experiences throughout my courses. I also believe that all individuals should posses the skills necessary to effectively communicate with a diverse range of people, whether the diversity lies in cultural differences or differences in learning due to disabilities.

  • My areas of interest are effective instructional strategies for all teachers and teacher education. My passion is students with mild disabilities especially learning disabilities.
