Mission Statement

The Donald E. and Helen L. Ross College of Education's programs are delivered via experiential learning, and therefore bring research to practice. These programs challenge students to develop their potential intellectually and personally and ensure that each student is equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies required of successful educators to meet the needs of all learners in today's diverse society.

College of Education

Students in the Ross College of Education will actively learn what it means to be an educator in the 21st century through frequent early field experiences connected to educational methods courses, as well as meaningful student teaching experiences.

The college is dedicated to preparing tomorrow's outstanding teachers and educational leaders. The faculty mentors and guides each student throughout the learning process, helping every individual acquire the competencies needed to be a successful educator and leader.

The college offers bachelor's and master's programs, as well as an educational doctorate for practitioners. The doctoral program focuses on research and partnerships with the Carnegie Foundation Project on the Educational Doctorate and local and regional school districts. The college also has a partnership with the International Leadership Centre Network.
